FBA Unit Profit Calculator

Fixed-reference US FBA contribution, margin and ROI. Not a general fee quote.

The unit ledger

US · Home and Kitchen · 6 × 4 × 0.5 inches · 2 oz · price band $10–$50 · default reference placement.

Fee snapshot, exclusions & what this is not
  • Automatic reference fees. Amazon fees are applied automatically from the observed snapshot — 15% referral, $3.63 fulfillment, $0.30 placement, peak storage — never entered as manual commissions.
  • Observed fee snapshot. Fulfillment $3.63 per unit ($3.51 base + $0.12 fuel surcharge), referral 15% of price rounded to 2 decimals, default reference placement $0.30 per unit, peak storage $0.01666 per unit-month. Read from the official Amazon calculator for the reference product on November 6, 2026; this snapshot stops producing estimates after November 30, 2026 until its sources are reviewed again. Fee reference data and limitations.
  • Not modelled: account overhead, special-program charges, aged or low-inventory fees, preparation, return-processing charges and tax. This release does not classify your product or warehouse plan, and the item price stays inside the band.
  • Contribution ≠ net profit. This is not a general-purpose FBA fee quote. The result is contribution after the listed fees and your entered costs, not full net business profit — account overhead, tax and other unmodelled charges remain outside this estimate.
  • Explicit zeros only. Enter 0 for a cost only when it is genuinely absent; a missing value is not treated as zero.

Enter every field, or load the synthetic example.

The labelled synthetic example

Load synthetic example fills every field with these labelled values. The engine running in this page then computes the ledger from them in decimal arithmetic — the page itself never pre-computes or stores a result, and any input change invalidates the previous estimate until you calculate again.

FieldExample valueWhat it stands for
Item price30.00Reference selling price inside the $10–$50 band
Goods cost10.00Supplier cost for one unit
Inbound shipping1.00Freight from your supplier to Amazon, per unit
Advertising0.50Ad spend attributed to one sold unit
Returns allowance0.20Refund set-aside per unit
Other costs0.30Any further per-unit business cost you track
Monthly units sold100Denominator of the storage allocation
Average inventory40Units held during the month; with units sold, allocates storage

Contribution is what one unit keeps after the automatic reference fees and every entered cost — the cash that still has to cover overhead, tax and actual profit. That is exactly why this tool reports contribution, not full business net profit.

Sources and verification scope

Download the observed reference-profile data and limitations.

The fulfillment base and surcharge, referral amount, default placement amount and unit-month storage amount were read from the official Amazon calculator for the synthetic reference product on November 6, 2026. The calculator's Core FBA result was distinguished from AWD and future fee previews. This is one observed reference case, not verification of every product, category, date or billing rule.

How the model calculates

Referral is estimated at 15% of the entered item price. Allocated storage is the observed unit-month amount multiplied by average inventory and divided by monthly units sold. Contribution is item price minus these reference fees and every entered business cost. Margin is contribution divided by item price. ROI uses goods cost plus inbound shipping as its denominator; when that denominator is zero, ROI is withheld.

Arithmetic uses decimal numbers. The displayed estimate rounds to cents; it does not assert a universal Amazon billing rounding policy. This review snapshot stops producing estimates after November 30, 2026 until its sources are reviewed again.
